Brass

C. DOUGLAS BALLARD

Douglas enjoys enabling others to enjoy music and to develop their own musical gifts.  He is the director of performing arts at North Brandywine Middle School in Coatesville, PA where he teaches concert band, jazz band, chorus, and small select band and chorus ensembles.  He has an undergraduate degree from West Chester University in Music Education, a Master's Degree in Wind Ensemble Conducting from American Band College of Sam Houston State University, and has been a music educator for  14 years.  Douglas is proficient in playing and teaching all concert band instruments, with a focus on brass.  He consults locally and nationally, giving clinics on musicality and expression.  In performance, Douglas is known for his professional performances in musical theatre, operetta, pit orchestra, holiday caroling, and local churches.  He is a certified judge with the Cavalcade of Bands organization, and has written orchestrations for Pioneer Drama Service of Colorado Springs, CO.
