Mission Statement
(Approved in 2001)
Worship services at Marple Presbyterian Church are
centered on honoring God through prayer, meditation and reading and
hearing Scripture: which are reinforced by a sermon that is obedient to
the Gospel and relevant to our daily living as Christians.
We exhibit our active participation in worship through
communion, congregational music, prayers, responses and the offering of our
gifts. We reflect God's love for others by sharing and praying over our joys and
concerns and by greeting one another as we offer the Peace of Jesus Christ. We
make announcements to encourage the participation of the congregation in our
church community, in which we collectively become the body of Christ. We
publicly recognize and support mission activities as a large part of our faith.
The ultimate goal of our worship services is to bring us
closer to God and to each other as we strive to become an inclusive and caring
community of believers.
